The challenge
The firm needed a dependable way for staff to access specialized tax software alongside Microsoft 365, files, and the other applications they use every day — from one consistent environment.
The solution
Whole Technology designed and implemented a centrally managed Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) environment. Staff access UltraTax and their everyday work applications through their virtual desktops. The environment runs on standardized desktop hosts, with FSLogix user profiles stored in Azure Files, and Nerdio handling desktop management and deployment.
Ongoing support
Whole Technology manages the environment day to day: monitoring host capacity and user profile health, maintaining desktop deployments, and troubleshooting user issues as they come up.
The outcome
The firm now runs its tax workflow on a consistent, centrally managed desktop environment — backed by continuing IT support from the team that built it.
